Uneven skin tone
As we age, the skin loses collagen and elastin, which leads to the appearance of wrinkles, especially in facial areas (e.g. around the eyes, on the forehead, around the mouth). Wrinkles can be superficial (fine lines) or deeper (furrows), depending on the degree of loss of skin elasticity.

Loss of facial oval
There is a visible loss of skin firmness and elasticity, leading to sagging tissues and sagging skin, especially around the cheeks, jawline and chin. The loss of facial oval is the result of a decrease in collagen and elastin production, which causes skin sagging and the formation of so-called “hamsters” (furrows in the lower face) and drooping of the corners of the mouth.

The volume of subcutaneous adipose tissue also decreases, which can lead to a sunken face. The loss of volume, especially in the cheek area, causes the facial contour to become less defined.
