face

The face is our image – it’s important to us. No two faces are identical – each one is unique and requires appropriate skin care.

Cleansing

Many of us think that cleansing is such a basic task that it can be done wherever you are – just splash your face in soap and water and voilà! In reality there is a lot more to it than soap and water. What do we recommend? The choice is yours. People with dry skin may prefer formulas with added moisturizers such as oils. Those with oily skin may go for a foaming wash or gel that leaves skin feeling super-clean. And remember to use a toner – ideally one of our gentle, alcohol-free versions.

Exfoliating

Why do you need to exfoliate your face? There are three reasons why. First – it completely cleanses the skin, getting rid of build-up from pores and helping to remove both blackheads and whiteheads. Second – it improves the feel of the skin, making it softer and fresher. Third – it stimulates blood flow to the face, giving you a youthful glow. Skipping exfoliation is a cardinal sin! Exfoliated skin readily absorbs the active ingredients in serums and creams. For the best results, exfoliate twice a week – ideally in the evenings, after removing your make-up.

Moisturising/nourishing

You wouldn’t go a day without drinking water, right? So why would you go a day without hydrating your skin? It’s not just about how you look today – moisturizing your skin now will help it look good in years to come. Properly hydrated and moisturized skin can perform at its best – skin can quickly repair itself and create new cells, and this brings huge anti-aging benefits down the line. There are times when your skin will need more than just moisturizing – and this is where nourishing comes in. Also remember to drink lots of water (preferably lukewarm) with lemon, which hydrates and has an alkalizing effect on the body.

Couperose skin

Couperose skin is not the end of the world! As usual, moisturizing is crucial as it reduces the appearance of redness, but it’s good to use dedicated products that will also sooth and calm your skin. Our tip is to always use lukewarm water to wash your face. Water that is very hot or cold can cause blood to rush to the face, which leads to more redness.

Sensitive skin

With sensitive skin, less is more: the more products you use, the more likely you are to have an adverse reaction. You should avoid synthetic ingredients – while they may look and smell great, if you have sensitive skin you should steer clear and opt for natural cosmetics. But don’t worry, we have the products for you. If you still find your skin reacts and you can’t pinpoint the cause, go to the doctor for a patch test.

Anti-aging

Keeping your skin moisturized is a key factor in preventing aging. So whatever you use, use it regularly, every day, with discipline. Apart from moisturizing it’s good to use creams containing plant substances that have proven anti-aging properties (like Rhodiola Rosea). Pat the cream or serum in rather than rubbing it. This enhances blood circulation, which results in a better distribution of active ingredients deep into the skin.

Problem skin

It’s not just teenagers who suffer skin imperfections and acne. One in three adults has similar issues and problem skin is often mentioned as a factor that noticeably lowers quality of life. Proper skin care is crucial because using unsuitable cosmetics may aggravate the condition or cause inflammation.

Anti-blemish

There are so many factors that can lead to blemishes, among them are hormonal changes, improper diet, internal health problems, alcohol consumption, stress, allergic reactions, overexposure to irritants in the environment, excessive exposure to sun, lack of an appropriate skincare regime and genetic predisposition. While we might not know the exact cause of your blemishes, we have created products specifically to deal with this skin condition. Enjoy all of them, one by one! You can also visit a naturopath or a dietician for further advice.

Sun protection

The sun is great! It makes you feel good, stimulates vitamin D production and a gentle tan makes you feel more attractive and self-confident. But in the summer or when skiing high in the mountains you need to protect your skin from excessive UV radiation. It’s good to go for products using natural, mineral filters instead of chemical ones. They do not penetrate the skin but form a protective layer on the surface that effectively reflects and disperses the sun’s harmful rays.
